From today’s Washington Post:
Sometime after Labor Day, House Minority Leader John A. Boehner plans to unveil a blueprint of what Republicans will do if they take back control of the chamber. He promises it will be a full plate of policy proposals that will give voters a clear sense of how they would govern.
From David’s article in the Financial Times July 13:
Republican leaders have been working through the spring and summer on a similar platform for 2010. As yet it remains uncertain whether they will produce anything. But if they do, it is easy to guess what it will feature: a promise to vote to repeal President Barack Obama’s healthcare plan, measures to favour business investment, and the extension of former President George W. Bush’s tax cuts otherwise slated to expire at the end of this year.

Mike,
I am for discrimination against whoever as long as it benefits Asians.
Besides that, I am of the opinion that Obama would very much like to repeal all of the nonsense you quoted, but honestly isn’t politically stupid. I’d prefer it if he had political balls in this sense (I’m sure you would too, as it would make him a huge political target) to repeal every last one of those things. As for Kagan, I guess that means you have nothing to complain about, right?
However, all politicians are like this, big news there. All things being equal, I’ll take the guy who has right and just intentions, and who waits for the right time to push forward what he thinks is right.
But in the end, if he’s really pushing for all that stuff, what are you complaining about? It’s a third Bush term!

Obama promised he would have all combat troops removed by 2009. He lied. IIRC there are also now plans in place which he could alter to keep a 50k strong reaction force there indefinitely.

Obama has asserted he has the power to indefinitely detain anyone as long as they are a threat whether they are charged are not and the war on terror is on going.

Obama has ordered the assassination of at least one American citizen.

No, he’s not just operating under the worst protocols, he’s expanding into new and uncharted territory. Beyond that in a year and a half he’s gone back on almost every core promise of his campaign that had to do with foreign affairs/gitmo/iraq. He’s taking a nice big dump on the constitution after promising he wouldn’t and you people are giving him a pass because he’s on your team. I could kind of give the government a little bit of leeway right after the WTC fell and 3000 people were atomized and many were genuinely terrified about what was coming next, or at least I understand their actions back in early 2002. But this 3 tiered justice crap, this indefinite detention, this declared intent to assassinate U.S. citizens from any president, but especially a president that just promised to follow the letter and spirit of the constitution on these very matters 9 years later with no end in sight is BS.
