Iveyguy – it sounds like he served for the Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry (Princess Pat’s) while fighting for Canada.

God bless this man, a true hero whose bravery should be an inspiration for all.

When paperwork caught up with him that he had deserted in 1941, his commanding officer court-martialed him – fined him $50, and promptly promoted him to 2nd lieutenant.
What a story!

And what a testament to the U.S. Army that they didn’t wreck this fine man’s career over his reckless but understandable action.

R.I.P., Col. Millett.

It’s men like you that we should all be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
