I don't think republicans WANT people to die, they don't seem to have a problem with the fact people DO die. Oh well. Too bad, so sad. At least we'll keep the dems from accomplishing things dear to their heart. That's the important thing.

I had some sneaking sympathy for Alan Grayson's "die quickly" line, simply because he at least cut through the cant about balancing the budget with the amazing savings that the government will be skimming off the top. At least with Grayson it isn't about the money. If you want a better metaphor as to where this should go, try the "reset button". Then again, the last time we hit the reset button on health reform, we got the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability act, which didn't make health insurance portable. It did make it more accountable, though. And they raised the premiums every year to pay for all the new things they were accountable for.

Doesn’t it sound exactly like what Rep. Alan Grayson is accusing Republicans of thinking?

Maybe. Or more like this, perhaps:

REP. PAUL BROUN (R-G): This program of government option that‘s being touted as being this panacea, the savior of allowing people to have quality health care at an affordable price, is going to kill people.

You gotta love how they name those lobbying groups, as if mom or dad or a neighbor thought of them while snapping beans in the kitchen. Friendly names but their only interest is the wallets of the people who fund them, and if they have to manipulate middle and low income people into supporting their "position", well , that's too bad. Life ain't fair, get used to it, the big eat the small, dog eat dog, only the strong survive, etc, etc,
