What that illustrates isn’t that these people are advocating Nazism … but that the rhetoric is rising to a level that drowns out discourse. Carrying a swastika painted next to a picture of your opponent to a rally is the equivalent of “going Godwin” on the net – it indicates that there is no more reasoning with you on a certain topic.

Not to say that people who can’t be reasoned with to change their minds are always wrong … just to say that there’s no room for dialogue at that point. It becomes simply a shouting match.

The DNCC produced an ad saying that health care proponents shouldn’t cave in to the “mob,” while showing footage of townhall participants.

You really need to stop watching CNN and MSNBC and reading DailyKos and Huffington — you will have no idea what is going on in the world if you continue.

That is what the FCC calls “false and misleading.”

These protesters were accusing the OBAMA Administration of acting like fascists, not wanting to act like fascists themselves. So they had placards with swastikas with red slashes drawn through them, as if to say “No to fascism.”
