The chirpiness about mass immigration from alien lands is depressing. Senator Frum seems genuinely clueless, rather than being merely muzzled by Canada’s ban on speaking forbidden thoughts, about the fact that the ominous cultural changes she rightly objects to are an INEVITABLE consequence of the mass immigration of ethnic aliens, and of the MISTAKEN idea that they and their descendants can and will assimilate to local norms. Will Canada learn nothing from the disastrous examples of its mother countries, the UK and France? Both have redefined themselves into no longer being the homelands of their native peoples and into being mere geographic areas in which certain abstract ideals hold sway, hoping that will win over resident ethnic aliens (with or without citizenship) – a policy that has failed.

Canada was, is, and should in a sane world always be essentially a nation-state of descendants of ethnic natives of the British Isles and of Francophone Europe, together with the indigenous aborigines. Others should be tolerated, and Jews, given history and their special contributions, a special welcome, but none should be allowed to re-define Canada or impose a new cultural or ethnic reality on it.
