Mr. Hoffman was born in 1891, in Western Springs, Illinois. If Mr. Hoffman were considering a run for President today, that alone would disqualify him, right there. To the folks in Red States, Illinois is enemy territory, home of the Chicago Democratic machine politics and, of course, Obama himself.
