The Daily Caller reports that Sarah Palin is endorsing Sharron Angle because Angle reportedly has “guts.”

The Daily Caller has learned that Sharron Angle has former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s endorsement.

Palin’s brother, Chuck Heath, told The Daily Caller that his sister plans to “actively help” Angle and “do whatever she can” to help take out Democratic Sen. Harry Reid, the Senate’s majority leader, in Nevada this fall.

“She’s got GUTS and is putting up with more crap than she deserves because the libs don’t know what to do with her and the support she has,” Palin said in a email provided to TheDC by Heath.

While Palin has not yet formally endorsed Angle in public before now, she said her support was offered to the Angle campaign when she recently made a donation to her. It is not clear if Palin was referring to a personal donation she made to Angle or the money her SarahPAC has contributed to Angle’s campaign. Palin has also supported Angle on Twitter, writing that Angle was “right” about wanting to allow workers to invest Social Security in private accounts.

Its good to see the camps lining up behind each other, makes 2012 so much easier.

I wonder who is going to step up the lead the Grown-Up wing of the Republican wing?

    They will get my vote!

    Palin’s endorsing Angle. Imagine that.

Reid’s no prize, IMHO, but compared to Angle he’s [insert name of your all-time fav pol here].

  • Fairy Hardcastle

Major polls still showing a toss-up on this one. For Reid, that is bad news.

    Angle will win.

  • CentristNYer

This is even news? Why wouldn’t she endorse Angle? Angle represents everything that Palin stands for: tea party simple-mindedness, right wing paranoia and hostility to any media outlet not controlled by Rupert Murdoch.

  • Fairy Hardcastle

CentristNYer, the timing of the endorsement is the interesting point here I think.

Sharon Angle – who ran away from the press at her own press conference – “has guts”? WTF? I guess it was supposed to be “is nuts” and a few keystrokes went astray.

Fairy, does anyone other than Rasmussen show Angle winning this? No, I didn’t think so.

However, I suppose you are an example of the sort of person that thinks Angle “has guts” because we know that you also think the Palin has great leadership qualities – even though she quit half-way through her first term because the business of doing the job the citizens entrusted her with was proving to be too time-consuming.

    Watusie,

Go for it with everything you have against the Governor. That’s what politics is all about. I would urge you to avoid false attacks, irrelevancies and misogynism though which leaves you with not much to attack her with.

Also, I didn’t say Rasmussen showed Angle winning, I said a toss-up which is what the last M-D poll showed too.

I talk to people in Nevada, and read the papers in that state, and I’ve been told that the only person they dislike more than Angle, is Palin. We’ll have to wait and see. They’re aghast at the prospect that their senators will be Angle and Ensign. They can’t bring themselves to live with that. Plus, they know that Angle will not bring back one thing for Nevada. They’re finally getting rid of Gibbons, and couldn’t be happier about that.

Fairy, false attacks, irrelevancies and misogany (not “misogynism”) are completely unwelcome in any political discussion and are, furthermore, completely unnecessary in the case of Sarah Palin who provides a such a target rich environment that a simple recitation of the factual record is all that is required – despite your protestation otherwise. Quickly, off the top of my head, in no particular order:

    1) she quit
    2) before she quit, she accomplished absolutely nothing
    3) she left the tiny town of Wasilla $20 million in debt, building a socialistic loss-making sports complex on land which the city didn’t own.
    4) running on the GOP ticket she inadvertently revealed she did not know the basic foreign policy of the sitting GOP president
    5) she has such a poor command of facts and issues that she can’t talk to any non-Fox press
    6) while governor she abused the public purse to benefit her family
    7) she stoops to public feuds with a teen-age boy
8 ) she uses her children like props
    9) she needed 6 years and 5 colleges to get a worthless degree
    10) her story of Trig’s birth is preposterous
    11) she was for the bridge before she was against it
    12) she actually said the following: “That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh, it’s got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and getting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade — we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as, uh, competitive, um, scary thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation.”

Got to agree that Angle “has guts” sems crazy to me.

She certainly has opinions, but that are ill-informed and she changes them back and forth in what appears to me to be a completely spineless manner. For example, her stance on Social Security is mind boggling. She’s for de-funding. She’s not for de-funding. Eliminate it. Protect it. Privatize. Keep under government control. At this point I think she’s actively “championed” every possible choice. To me, that indicates some combination of “no conviction” and “I don’t know what I’m saying”.

So I’m not sure where the “she’s got guts” is supposedly coming from, aside from the blatant “makes her sound like a momma grizzly so you sheep will vote for her because its a nice buzzword” propaganda aspect.

Also, Reid being in a dead heat is GREAT for Reid . . . considering he by all rights would be down 15 points or so against just about any other candidate, up to and including pieces of furniture. The fact that its even close is NOT good for Angle or the GOP.

I’m certainly not misogynistic. As a woman I hope to see intelligent educated world-savvy female politicians rise to high positions in office and serve America with distinction. Women who are articulate and well-read and well-educated. If that means ‘elite’ you bet I want “elite’ in the Oval Office.

Palin is embarrassing and is why her overall ratings with women are low. I think a pundit used the term ‘Valley Girl’ about her giggling and the ‘oh my goshes’ and the ‘you betchas’ and the winking and blowing kisses. It was a perfect description of her.

Frankly I intensely dislike her need to use her kids for political fodder. Her constant reference to ‘Mama Grizzlies’ or holding up her son, Trig, under the lights to elicit applause is sickening. The whole ‘soccer Mom’ thing… ridiculous. As if millions of women are doing all that and more everyday. Why does she need this “Mom o’ the year’ schtick?

This is why people should vote for her? Good grief. She is still hiding on Facebook, Twitter and Fox News. When she goes on Hardball without the script I might give her some credence but not until then. No one gave Hillary Clinton a pass. She either takes the heat that other female politicians had to take, or she can take the Greyhound back to Wasilla.

Did anyone else catch that searing interview she did with the teacher up in Alaska? This was the defining moment for Palin – the teacher tore into her for being ‘the worst governor ever’ and said she was nothing more than a ‘celebrity’. Palin of course giggled and then asked her what she did for a living. “Teacher” was the reply – while Palin rolled her eyes. Rolled her eyes! That pretty much says it all about this woman.

That Youtube will be played over and over again when she runs – if she does.

If this is the test for the GOP with Palin as their front runner, they are doomed. 73% of Americans don’t think she’s fit to run for high office…and there’s a reason for that. We just have higher standards.
