Does the president think that gaining the games for Chicago will somehow beat back Mark Kirk’s campaign for his former Senate seat?

I’m wondering why someone would immediately jump to the conclusion that every decision has such a political component.

Projection?

Personally, Obama always seems to have that “progressive liberal who plays well with the Chamber of Commerce” persona … add in his sports fan background, and propping the Olympics for his adopted hometown seems like a natural, devoid of any political equation.
