Maybe it's time to turn to the Taliban and see if we can negotiate a pipeline deal between UNOCAL and its hated rival Brandis.

Back in the summer of 01, in the months leading up to 9/11, the Bush Adminstration was heavily involved with negotiations with the Taliban on a pipeline deal on behalf of UNOCAL. Then some mid-level brianiac on the Bush apparently told the Taliban that if you knew what was good for you better accept our offer because it was far better than having bombs dropping on your head -something to that effect.

Boy, that was smart, real smart. Because the Taliban turned around and signed with Brandis and the rest is history.

The US in general and Bush in particular seem to be really bad at picking our client rulers
