So Griffith is probably counting on his loyal voters from the Dem Party crossing over to vote for him in the GOP primary.

Because Democrats would want to make sure someone who left their party gets elected why?

Notice how close the votes on health care and energy policy have been.

They’ve been that close in no small part because the Dems have been able to “release” Dems from conservative districts with no pressure – Pelosi hasn’t been pulling out the stops to get as large a majority as possible on each vote.

The best takeover attempts are always moderates in districts in which the national party has become unpopular. Christopher Shays, for one.

And right now, those are Red districts with “Blue Dog” representatives.

The GOP doesn’t have to take over the House. Notice how close the votes on health care and energy policy have been. All the GOP needs to do is win 25 seats–and Pelosi’s agenda will be dead from then on.

I believe that Alabama primaries are open; crossover voting is permitted. That is, Dems can vote in GOP primaries and vice versa. So Griffith is probably counting on his loyal voters from the Dem Party crossing over to vote for him in the GOP primary.

No, I’m happy Parker Griffith switched over. Infill is a good thing for the Republican party. What I’m unhappy about is that the northeast isn’t stepping up their game.

What a surprise FrumForum is disappointed that something good happened for the conservative cause. At some point Frum you have to root for your allies.
