Olbermann did a fine job of describing the Sherrod fiasco – It’s exactly what I think about the whole matter. Well said.

This is classic deflection. The sleezeball Breitbart is caught being a sleezeball and his defense is, “Quick, look over there!”
Below is the second half of a comment I left on Politico yesterday that explains how I feel about Breitbart and his ilk……
Now, on to the other, lower, half of the equation. Losing isn’t easy and the pain stings. But if the President’s opponents in the election of 2008 had had the majority of support of the American voting public they would have won. But you lost. Get over it.
To the right leaning Americans I say this. This is OUR country please try not to allow it to be soiled by those who don’t understand fair competition. What we’re seeing now is the game of politics played at new lower level. This new, lower, level of politics started, to my knowledge, with the Muskie “Canuck Letter” out of the Nixon political office and followed with and endless stream of underhanded despicable actions over the course of the years perpetrated and perfected by a list of lowlives including Lee Atwater followed by Karl Rove and others to the present day Breitbart. I guess to those right leaning Americans winning by cheating is okay. If you can live with that, I hope someone will have mercy on you souls, if you do in fact have souls.
These despicable acts have been going on for years under the guise of “Shenanigans”. But forgery, “the Canuck letter”, to dark inuendo, “would you vote for John McCain if you knew he had an illegimate black child?”, to outright character assassination of a fine woman by a lowlife like Breitbart is not some “Shenanigan”, it is criminal in its intent and it is what is bring down the overall respect and confidence in America and OUR form of government.
The only motivation behind these criminal acts is the distruction of OUR representative from of government. If that’s what you want for OUR country, so be it. But when America fails, its failure will be in your hands.

Deflection… and projection.

“This guy’s a slimeball who will never truly back down from his lies. What a douche!”
That pretty much sums it up.
This thread has been interesting to read. I know people are chastising Olbermann for his opinion piece. I have to agree that I am no longer a fan of Olbermann. He has really gone over the top on his show nowadays. Probably to compensate for the sheer magnitude of over the top right-wing propaganda coming from Hannity and Beck.
But I don’t think he was wrong in calling Breitbart a racist. How else would you label this entire fiasco?
He deliberately edited a video of a black woman to give the impression that she was inciting racial statements in order to bait the Whitehouse into responding. Unfortunately for him, his plan backfired and he is now being exposed for what he is: a middle aged white guy threatened by the election of a black president. Now how is that not racist?
I am not going to jump on the bandwagon and scream ‘racism’ every time an anti-Obama statement is made by someone on the right. Calling racism is done far too frequently by the left in order to avoid fallacies on their part. However, I DO expect the right to call a spade a spade when they see one.

TerryF98, both of our major duopoly parties are tools of international bankers and war profiteers. They exploit their idiots, er, bases to get elected and then ignore them till the next cycle.

Oskar:
Oh good lord I can’t keep up with your goal-post moving. Stay still for God’s sake.
I’m not sure who the cultural marxist overlords are, or where they fit in on the dry-erase board, or how many arrows point to or from them on that board, but you’ll need to provide some actual credible evidence for suggesting that the Justice Department is doing something improper.

Frum, you are smarter than this.
Breitbart is a useless idiot. Period. As of today, he’s still trying to smear Sherrod.
You have no business associating with this guy – or giving him the journalistic “benefit of the doubt.”
Oskar // Jul 22, 2010 at 1:54 pm
Xunzi (sorry for misspeling your name earlier) I’ll take Pat Buchanan over either Breitbart or Frum.
TerryF98 // Jul 22, 2010 at 2:05 pm
I agree that both are in thrall to the Banksters, not sure the Dems are as far in with the Military Industrial Complex and never ending war however some probably are. It’s a pity there is no space for a party of ethics and competence, someone here said the center of the road is lined with dead skunks. Where I come from the margins of the road are lined with dead deer.

I think Rachel Maddow said it best last night on her show when talking about this incident and the others before related in ACORN, Van Jones, New Black Panther Party voter intimidation. Each has been very similar in what they’re trying to say to their majority white audience: The Obama Administration believes in ‘reverse’ racism. I would recommend you watch the video and comment on it since unlike throwing epithets and others she uses facts and actual clips to show the hypocrisy.

Conservative no longer have pansies in their corner. Conservatives have been a punching bag from the left for years, while being up against the massive MSM. Now we have Drudge, Brietbart, Fox, Redstate and others. Its about time, and the left can whine all they want.
Olberman Mathews, Gergen, Maddow, Cooper and all the others scream. Too bad.
