Had George Bush not filled Federal Agencies with Heritage-vetted ideologues who believed that government that works best is government which governs least … followed up on his 2000 campaign pledges to regulate CO2 with something more than 8 years of “studies” and stonewalling of scientific opinions from inside the Federal Bureaucracy that called for action … engaged in a limited war to eliminate Al Qaeda in Afghanistan (and Pakistan), rather than moving the war to Iraq with plans to advance on to Syria and Iran in his back pocket … and followed the lead of Reagan, following his initial massive tax cuts with a series of tax increases which moderated some of the impacts of those cuts on the federal treasury .. there’s a pretty good chance that we’d have a Republican in the White House now, as well as much more balance in the House and Senate.
