DeMint: Tea Party Misread As ‘Right-wing’

The Hill reports:

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) defended the Tea Party in an interview published Thursday, claiming it is often misunderstood as a “right wing” of the GOP.

“What is the most misunderstood fact about the Tea Party, in your opinion?” the Christian Post asked DeMint.

“That it is a right wing, manufactured by the Republican Party,” he responded. “The Tea Party doesn’t like politicians. They don’t like Republicans or Democrats. These are people who are independent.”

Tea Party members “are people of all walks of life and they are the best behaved group I’ve ever been in,” added DeMint.

DeMint has emerged this year as a de facto leader in the Senate of freshman GOP senators with Tea Party ties, including Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Pat Toomey (Pa.), Mike Lee (Utah) and Ron Johnson (Wis.).

The Tea Party is little more than the Christian Right with different handlers. Most of the “libertarians” in the movement are social conservatives who think that “libertarian” is a trendy new way to say conservative.

Are they still trying to claim that a walrus is seal? *chuckles*

The only thing more tragic would be if they actually believed their own horse pucky

The fact that the Tea Party is hell-bent on mandating government intrusion into the social aspects of your life (God, guns, abortion, drugs, gay marriage, etc) shows how much Demint is lying…

If DeMint and those he is the “defacto leader of” were any more right wing, they would be flying in circles – oh wait, here they come again.

If they were truly independent he wouldn’t be defending them. And man oh man they guy is like 70 years old and he dyes his hair. What a vain little man he is. I find any old guy who dyes his hair to be just embarrassing. One of the benefits of being a man in America is that you don’t have to be metrosexual.

Fatheads like De Mint serve a useful purpose. They remind people the GOP is led by fatheads. Every cloud has a silver lining.

“The Tea Party doesn’t like politicians.”

Then you, Sir, are an oxymoron. Sans oxy.

“Since DeMent thinks unmarried pregnant women are scum and shouldn’t be around children, I take it that even Mary, the Mother of Jesus, who was unmarried and pregnant, wouldn’t be good enough for him.”
