I wish everyone would just be silent, put down the talking points, and watch the Khamenei speech from yesterday–even without the Press TV translation: just try to put yourself in that hall. Then, after seeing that, try to tell me that the Ahmadi people are going away without a fight–or that sane people can negotiate with them. We spend much of our time here debating a convenient fantasy. However much it feels good to disagree, DF is well grounded in this debate. We will see what happens: every generation the Persian government evolves (really, the time periods between regime changes are quite unusual, and seemingly predictive); the last time didn’t turn out at all well. It is good for us to be cautious–and worried. And, I fear, sad, as we watch this escalate into further violence.

Don’t bother commenting here. If Frum doesn’t like what you say it will be deleted. Only agreement is allowed here, Much like Iran.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/TWSFPView.aspthis is the weekly standard blog. go to this site, not linked, and go down a bit until it says murder and watch the video. this is what happens in Iran to someone WATCHING the protest. don’t watch it if your easily made queezy, it’s pretty nasty.

Mine wasn’t deleted, despite making little or no sense. It is confusing to agree with both Flynt and David, but I take that to indicate something really serious (generational) is going on. Michael Eisenstadt was helpful to me:http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1245184882131&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
