I have been researching many Republican candidates for 2012. Governor Daniels would have been at the top of my list. But I have found another person. Congressman Leonard Lance (R) NJ. He is a brilliant man who would make an excellent President. He is EXACTLY who we need as our President. Please look into him.

Short answer is no. Daniels was considered an endangered Republican in 2008 because he was unpopular, personally and politically. And 2008, was the height of his popularity. The fact that McCain lost in a state that Republicans almost always win reflects poorly on Daniels. Indiana is a relatively Republican state.

As for his commencement speech, I think that is shameful. I always got angry when liberal politicians used graduation speeches as a political platform as opposed to delivering apolitical remarks that actually focused on the graduating class. It is no better when a Republican does it.

Is the GOP in such bad shape that an unpopular red state politician who wins election with less than 60% of the vote against a lousy opponent should be mentioned as a possible frontrunner?
