You perfectly summarized my father's career and provided trenchant glimpses into the content of his character. He was a maverick in the best sense of the word, a politician who truly voted his conscience. He is a man of great integrity. And I can vouch for his rep as a teetotaler: He's 89 years old and has never taken a drink. Way ahead of his time on so many levels, he was a designated driver for his friends in the late 1930s roughly, oh, half a century before the term was coined.<br><br>Again, fine work. As conservative as I am, I do not like labeling moderate GOPers "RINO". With these members, the GOP can gain a majority and get the committee chairmanships.
