May the brave Canadian men who undertook this mission rest in peace, and may they always be remembered. They have earned the eternal gratitude of free nations.

The only quibble I can see: German arms production peaked in December 1944 under the rather resourceful Mr. Speer. It was military manpower and especially trained pilots that was the problem for the Germans, not so much a lack of hardware.

I believe one of the chief bunglers at Dieppe was one Lord Louis Mountbatten. Despite his incompetence at Dieppe, Mountbatten was given the task of giving the British Dominion of India independence as the last Viceroy. Not only did he fail miserably in that endeavor with nearly one million dying in religious strife(guess which religion caused most of the violence), Mountbatten was cuckolded by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, for his troubles. Lord Mountbatten rivals America's Robert McNamara as a splendid failure.
