“Does David Frum realize what an ass he has made of himself?”
Hmm.
Michelle’s defense of Sean Hannity consists of three points:
1) An invocation of the heroism of the slain soldiers who have received citations from the Freedom Alliance. (Which proves nothing about the charity.)
2) The Freedom Alliance’s own press release. (Which is assertion but not proof.)
and 3) The reporting done by the FrumForum website! Malkin mentions the names of the reporters, but not, ahem, the name of the place at which the work was published. (Voila.)
Michelle Malkin might pause to consider the irony that those of us who do not stand up and salute at the mention of Sean Hannity’s name were the people who did the work that rebutted the allegations against him.
And then, as a matter of manners: If you’re going to rely on other people’s work, don’t insult them for doing it.

David, David, David. Did you really expect to have a hack like What’s-her-name mention your site on her site? What’s-her-name couldn’t afford any of her 37 readers to wander off to a better site.

I totally agree. After reading the original post deriding Hannity I had to wonder how anyone could have taken it seriously. Oh, the Leftie blogs, you say. I have a news flash for you David, the Leftie blogs don’t believe a word of the rebuttals about Hannity on your site so it was an exercise in futility.

wryteacher:well malkin’s got 27 comments to her post. and all i hear here is …………crickets.I’m not the world’s biggest fan of David Frum (although compared to how I feel about Michelle Malkin he’s a minor deity), but you must realize that your statement doesn’t say anything whatsoever about the relative worth, or truth, of their statements. If popularity or attention were all that mattered, you’d have to accept that our current President is far more popular than either and thus had more worthy views. Of course, that would be an utterly ridiculous argument. Given that “conservatives,” so-called, are no longer holding the reins of power and have thus suddenly rediscovered the dangers of the “tyranny of the majority,” consistency would require a less contemptuous attitude toward someone who is only a little out of the conservative mainstream.
Heck, it’s not as if David Frum had turned into Daniel Larison over at the American Conservative. Pity, actually.

Read the tax returns filed by “The Freedom Alliance” and see for yourself how LITTLE of the money raised is going to wounded military or their families.
Read the response from “the freedom alliance” and compare that to their own tax returns.
Charity????? Ha, not getting any more money from me.
I’ll find some other way to help a Veteran!!!

I agree with the “read-the-tax-returns” poster that there seem to be discrepancies. Have you read them? Apparently, FA spent more than a million dollars on compensation, salaries and wages in 2008, but those expenditures don’t seem to be accurately included in their subsequent letters to their donors. Am I missing something or are their numbers wrong?

Are you actually surprised that Malkin got it wrong? Really? It was never going to be a an easy road to travel, trying to be a thinking conservative. Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan and William F. Buckley, Jr. are dead, Kathleen Parker is coughing up blood (figuratively speaking), and the Truthers and Birthers can’t decide if the leader of the conservative movement is Beck, Limbaugh or Palin. So get with the program and lose the I.Q. — or toughen up.
