I don’t think you could have got the memo. The manufacturer isn’t going to challenge the decision……And we haven’t figured out how to make the lower tech Chinese planes drop out of the sky.
I hope the cancellation is just a bargaining position. Indeed, it would be a good one to trade for the gold plated extension of useless programs, but I fear not. By the way, if anyone actually cares, the 187 we have will disappear surprisingly quickly, in combat. You know, war.

The Chinese have a large problem with a restless population who will eventually accept nothing less than a significant change in the status quo.
Their problem is how to keep global encomic and other events from such a negative impact to their way of life that I seriously doubt that the danger is actually “non-zero” or could the “non-zero” number actually be negative?
