I think there is a big difference between ‘exposing’ and ‘reporting’ on an issue. Mike Hunt captures what this act really is: unethical and disgusting.

It’s one thing to foolishly believe that comments made on a private listserv won’t be leaked. It’s another thing to offer 100K to get your hands on private conversations so that you can sift through them to find things to “expose” people about.

The first is naive. The second is unseemly, unethical, and disgusting.
