Optiimistic…is it your contention then that NO ONE in teh White House was made aware that they were using the AIR FORCE ONE 747 for a photo op??? Really? C’Mon. And if we get hit it will be because Obama is reconstructing all the pre-9/11 barriers to intelligence gatheing that made us vulbnerable in the first place. Of course the media (who are Obama wet-nurses) will decry any future attack as Bush’s fault. So you will have plenty of spin to draw from come the day…if you’re alive that is.

This President does get it !! Pres Obama and Gibbs and(this administration) knew nothing of the photo – op. It would not have happened had the President known. The FAA kept quiet which is shamefull and in doing so frightened alot of people. You sound alot like Hannity and Glenn Beck , running off with diahrea of the mouth without all the facts. Or do you have the facts and just not care?? If we get hit again it’ll be because of the GOP fighting President Obama all the way! They do have an agenda it’s called POLITICS.

We wouldn’t have to get hit hard by terrorists if we would elect true conservatives, determined to seek out and destroy terrorists. Instead moderates want us to vote for the mushy middle, worried more about the Constitutional rights of terrorists, than protecting the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by Americans.

In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration's James Johnston said the agency was aware of "the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes" in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor's office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.

The NYPD was so upset about the demand for secrecy that Police Commissioner Ray Kelly vowed never to follow such a directive again and he accused the feds of inciting fears of a 9/11 replay.

The mayoral aide who neglected to tell Mayor Michael Bloomberg about it was reprimanded.

I don't know why the aide "neglected" to inform Bloomberg, but what is clear - assuming one takes the CBS news reporting at face value - key local figures, including NYC's Police Commissioner, were informed. It's just that upon being "informed" they were told they couldn't pass the info on. (*SHRUG*)

I'd like to know why Police Commissioner Kelly apparently didn't independently pass the info on to the Mayor regardless of his federal... er... instructions.

I'd also like to know what the real deal was regarding the (unnamed of course) Mayor's aide.

This guy can write. Once again he hammers home the point. This is not a hate-monger or blind partisan. This is a guy who was deeply effected by 9/11 and doesn’t want it to happen again. And he is just afraid that Obama is oblivious to the threats in the world. We are going to get hit. Hard. It’s just a matter of time. At least no one will be able to say that the Brad Schaeffers of the world didn’t try to warn us.
