[...] Obama said in an email said ” That is why I’ve said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations and all peoples to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won’t all be met during my presidency, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it’s recognized that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone.” Obama is also Donating the nobel prize money (1.4 million dollars) to charity. http://www.newmajority.com/14-million-goes-a-small-way [...]

[...] Tim Mak’s post here at New Majority criticizing (right, criticizing) Obama’s decision to donate his 1.4 million dollar Nobel Award to charity is an example of what happens when you are (a) paid to blog on a very regular basis, (b) paid to be critical, and (c) paid to be partisan. The result: on some days your never ending search for things to be critical about come up empty, so you are forced to make some very stupid posts. [...]

He could ease America’s tax burden, and let the charitable and voluntary sector flourish on their own.

I've been thinking for years that David Koch could accomplish exactly the same thing by contributing to the Federal Government some of the millions and millions he spends on the Cato Foundation and AEI, etc.

Oh wait ... that's a pretty silly, specious comment? Yeah, probably. But it does fit the tone of this post.
